Account Setup
How do I create an account?
You can sign in with a Web3 wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.) or use social login via Google, X, or Email. Players who sign in with social login get an embedded wallet automatically, powered by Openfort — no extensions needed.
What wallets are supported?
We support MetaMask, WalletConnect-compatible wallets, Coinbase Wallet, and Rainbow. For mobile, MetaMask Mobile and WalletConnect work natively. Social login creates an embedded wallet for you automatically — no extension needed.
Can I use the platform without a crypto wallet?
Yes. Sign in with Google, X, or Email to get started instantly. An embedded wallet is created for you. You can export your private key at any time from Settings, under Security ("Wallet Security & Export").
How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Open Settings -> Security and scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Aegis). Enter the 6-digit code to confirm, then save your one-time recovery codes. After that, each sign-in asks for a fresh 6-digit code on top of your wallet or social login. The codes are time-based, so keep your device clock in sync. Social-login accounts need a linked wallet first.
Wallet & Funds
What tokens are accepted?
We accept USDC (and USDT where available) plus the chain's native coin — ETH on Ethereum, BNB on BNB Chain. Native coins are escrowed and paid out directly; nothing is wrapped into an intermediary token, so you just join and play. USDC and USDT need a one-time token approval first; native ETH and BNB do not.
How do deposits work?
Entry fees sit in the escrow smart contract, not in a SkillClassics account, until you claim your prize or refund. When you create or join a table or register for a tournament, you deposit the entry fee directly to the escrow smart contract. It stays locked from then until the contest settles and you claim your prize, or it is cancelled and you claim a refund.
How fast are payouts?
Most claims settle in a single Direct Claim transaction: when a game ends, you call the contract yourself and it pays your wallet in that same transaction — no queue, no custodian. A small number of matches and tournament finishes go through a brief Integrity Review before release (see "What is Integrity Review?" under Fees & Payouts). We never charge a fee to withdraw. Claiming your entry fee, refund, or prize costs only the blockchain's own network fee (gas) — nothing more. Claim within 30 days of settlement; our Terms set out the claim window.
Do you use wrapped tokens like WETH or WBNB?
No. The escrow contracts hold native ETH and BNB directly and pay winners out in the same coin — you never receive a wrapped token. Earlier versions wrapped native coins into an ERC-20; that path was removed in the July 2026 hardening batch so settlement is now one step simpler.
How do I practise without risking real money?
Switch to Ethereum Sepolia or BSC Testnet with the chain selector in the top navigation, then open the faucet panel in the Lobby to mint free test tokens for entry fees. For gas, grab Sepolia ETH or testnet BNB from the public faucet for whichever test network you're on. Everything plays exactly the same as on BNB Chain — only the money is fake.
Gameplay
How do I find a game?
Go to the Lobby page to browse available games. You can filter by game, entry fee, speed and status. The lobby shows tables on the network you are connected to; switch with the chain selector. You can also create your own table and wait for an opponent.
What's the difference between match formats?
Head-to-head matches are one-on-one — create or join one and play as soon as an opponent joins. Sit & Go tournaments start automatically as soon as enough players have registered. Scheduled tournaments are posted with a start time in advance — register ahead, then everyone is seeded into the bracket when the clock hits zero.
What happens if I disconnect during a game?
The platform uses WebSocket connections with automatic reconnection. If you briefly disconnect, you'll be reconnected within seconds. Your game state is preserved on the server. If you are disconnected for 60 seconds after play has begun, you forfeit the game; reconnect sooner and the game carries on. Your clock keeps running while you are away.
How are time controls enforced?
Time controls are enforced server-side. The backend tracks each player's remaining time with millisecond precision. When your time runs out, you lose the game automatically. Head-to-head tables offer clocks of 3, 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes per player, with no increment; scheduled tournaments show their own clock on the tournament page.
How does Gin Rummy work on SkillClassics?
SkillClassics plays gin rummy as a best-of-5 match; the table creator picks the variant (Standard, Straight Gin or Oklahoma). Each player gets 10 cards. Form melds (sets of same rank, or runs of consecutive same-suit cards), minimize your deadwood, and knock when you're ready. The first player to win 3 hands wins the match. Card shuffling uses a cryptographic commitment scheme, the same as backgammon dice.
How does Go scoring work?
The table creator picks the scoring: Chinese (area) or Japanese (territory + prisoners). Under Chinese scoring your score is your stones on the board plus the empty points you surround; under Japanese scoring it is the empty points you surround plus your prisoners. White receives komi as compensation for going second — 7.5 on 13x13 and 19x19, 5.5 on 9x9, or 0.5 in handicap games. The game goes to a count when both players pass in a row; both players confirm it (Accept result), or either can resume play. Board sizes: 9x9 (quick), 13x13 (intermediate), 19x19 (standard).
Can I review a game after it ends?
Yes. Once a game finishes, open it from "Match history" on your profile to step through it move by move — for Chess, Backgammon, Gin Rummy, and Go. Use the scrubber, auto-play, and flip the board to see it from either side. Chess games can export PGN. Replay is only available after a game is over.
Fees & Payouts
What is the service fee?
A service fee is included in each contest entry fee and deducted from each player's entry before the prize pool is funded; all players contribute equally. Entry fees are capped at $5 while an independent third-party audit is outstanding — the cap is reviewed once that completes — so the rates that apply today are 8% for entries from $0.50 up to $4.99 and 6% for a $5 entry. Native-coin (BNB) entries carry a flat 5%. The published schedule also has 5% from $20 and 2.5% from $100, but those tiers are not available while the cap is in place.
What is Integrity Review?
Before a prize is released, some matches and tournament finishes are held briefly for automated and manual anti-collusion and anti-fraud checks. Most claims are unaffected. A held claim is resolved by our team — released, or voided if the checks confirm a breach of the rules — and is never silently dropped. If your claim shows "Held for Integrity Review", no action is needed from you. If you disagree with an outcome, our Terms explain how to raise a dispute.
How are tournament prizes distributed?
Tournament prize pools are funded by all player entry fees after the service fee is deducted. Prizes are distributed in tiered payouts: 1st place gets the largest share, with smaller portions for 2nd and 3rd depending on the tournament size.
How do scheduled tournaments work?
Browse upcoming tournaments on the Lobby's Scheduled tab and register ahead of time by paying the entry fee. A countdown shows when it begins. When the start time arrives, everyone is seeded into a single-elimination bracket (Round 1 -> Quarter-Finals -> Semi-Finals -> Finals); check in when your match is ready and compete round by round. Prizes pay out on-chain to the winners. If a tournament has fewer than the minimum players at start, it auto-cancels and your entry fee becomes refundable — claim it from the tournament page. If the cancellation has not yet been recorded on-chain, the claim takes two wallet confirmations: the first unlocks refunds for everyone in that tournament.
Technical
What browsers are supported?
We support Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Safari (latest versions). For the best experience with Web3 wallets, we recommend Chrome or Brave with the MetaMask extension installed.
Which blockchain networks are supported?
Ethereum Sepolia and BSC Testnet are live now, with free play using test tokens. BNB Chain is live, with entry fees capped at the micro tier while our independent third-party audit is outstanding. Ethereum mainnet follows, and Solana is planned. You can switch chains at any time using the chain selector in the top navigation.
Which network should I choose?
If you want to play for real, choose BNB Chain — gas is cheap and entry fees settle in BNB or USDC. If you would rather practise first, choose Ethereum Sepolia or BSC Testnet and use the faucet panel for free test tokens. You can switch networks at any time using the chain selector in the top navigation.
How do I report a bug?
Tap the round "Report a bug" button fixed in the bottom-left corner, then describe what happened. You can attach an optional screenshot, and recent technical context is included automatically. The button is available to signed-in players everywhere, including in a game, while spectating, and on replay pages.
Is the platform open source?
Partly. Our escrow contracts are published on GitHub along with their deployed addresses and a script you can run yourself to verify the fairness commitment of any completed match. The rest of the platform is proprietary software owned by Oh-Kay Labs. Every deployed contract is also public on-chain — addresses are listed on the Smart Contracts page and viewable on the block explorer.
